The in-the-moment speaking coach

Assess. Coach. Track. Until the habit changes.

You already know what good speaking sounds like. But old habits fire the moment you start talking — which is why advice never survives a real conversation. Altura works where habits actually change: while you speak.

01

Assess

Two assessments — a filler word profile and a five-dimension communication scorecard.

02

Coach

Practice on your own, or bring Altura into a real meeting. Either way it coaches you while you speak — one focus at a time.

Filler Word Report

Everyone uses filler words — and that's fine. The issue is when they cluster: three“you know” in a row, “like” every other sentence. Altura coaches the clustering pattern, not the word.

Coach · in the moment

Here's what happens while you speak.

Altura listens as you talk, and helps in two different ways. Sometimes it signals you — it spots a problem and speaks up. Sometimes it simply reflects what's happening back to you, and leaves the decision to you.

90-second walkthrough · A few of these in action

Altura decides

Signals

Altura spots the issue — it signals you.

Small, movable cues that float above whatever you're actually doing — not inside an app window you have to look away to. They breathe in when Altura spots something, and settle when it passes. Best if you'd rather be told than monitor yourself.

Live Nudges

The habits you most want to break are the ones you forget the instant you start talking. An outside nudge catches them when your own attention can't.

Pick one habit you want to fix. Altura watches for just that and nudges you, live, the moment it shows up.

Lead with a Point of ViewOverexplainingLong Answers

Think of it as a coach tapping your shoulder.

You set the one thing; act only when you feel the tap.

Filler Coach

You don't hear your own fillers.

Watches your filler words in the background and signals when they start to cluster in a short stretch — not on every single um. A soft, ambient cue, so you never have to count anything or break your train of thought.

Think of it as a temperature gauge.

Color you feel in your periphery — calm, rising, hot — not something you stop to read.

You decide

Reflection

Altura shows you — you make the judgment.

Panels you can move and resize, sitting steadily beside your work — the question, an outline of your speech, their words, your time. They never pulse and never interrupt; you look when you want to. Best if you'd rather build your own awareness and decide for yourself.

Speech Mirror

You can't watch your own talk from the outside while you're giving it.

A live reflection of how you're speaking and how you come across to others — your structure, the key points under each topic, and how your time is spread across them.

It lets you catch things like I've spent four minutes on point one and never said my actual point — and fix it before you finish, not after.

Think of it as a mirror you steer by

— not a record you read afterward. You glance, catch a drift, and adjust mid-sentence.

Question DecodeLive Meeting only

The hardest part of a tough question often isn't the answer — it's figuring out what's actually being asked.

Turns a long, rambling, multi-part question into the one thing actually being asked, in real time — so you respond to the right thing, fast.

Think of it as subtitles for the question.

A glance to confirm what they meant — you still decide how to answer it.

Live transcript

You half-hear things — the exact ask, a number someone quoted, the phrase they leaned on.

See exactly what they said and what you said — the literal words, live on screen. Glance down and shape your next sentence around what was really said, not what you half-heard. Show it live, save it for after, or both.

On-device

Speech-to-text runs on your Mac. No bot joins your call, no audio is recorded, nothing is uploaded.

Think of it as live ground to check

— so what you say next answers the room, not your memory of it.

Coach · how you use it

Practice with purpose. Show up ready.

Two ways to use Altura — and the live coaching is available either way. The only thing that changes is whether the conversation is real.

Solo practice

Practice before it counts

Speak on your own and get coached the entire time, exactly as you would in the real thing — then read a full analysis of the session afterward.

As many takes as you want

Nobody is listening. Stop mid-sentence, start over, and run the same answer again until it comes out the way you meant it.

Live meeting

When it's the real thing

The moments that matter most are the ones you can't rehearse. Altura is in the call with you — alongside Zoom, Teams, or Meet — and nobody else sees a thing.

For the moments you can't afford to fumble

The interview. The board meeting. The call that decides it. Altura catches the question you didn't quite catch, and helps you lead with your point and stay concise — while it still counts.

Either way, it counts as a rep. Habits change through repetition, and the repetitions don't care whether the conversation was real. So if you never get around to practicing, Altura still works — your meetings become the practice.

Common questions

Will Altura interrupt me?
No. Altura nudges with a small floating cue — a soft orb and a one-line label — never an alert, sound, or pop-up that breaks your flow. You decide whether to glance at it. If you’d rather not see anything during a session, switch to Post-session analysisand get the same feedback after you’re done.
How many problem areas will Altura nudge me on in real time?
One real-time coaching focus per session. The science is clear: a single attention target is the only kind that actually changes behavior in the moment. Filler Pattern Alert can run alongside any focus as ambient coaching, because it doesn’t ask for cognitive attention while you speak.
Does Altura record my voice?
No. Speech-to-text runs entirely on your device. Altura never records, stores, or transmits audio. Your transcript stays on your Mac or iPad.
What speaking situations does Altura help with?
Interviews, presentations, board or VC meetings, customer calls, all-hands meetings, sales conversations, and Toastmasters practice sessions. Altura works in any situation where you're speaking on a laptop or iPad — whether it's a live conversation or rehearsal.
What are the minimum hardware and software requirements to run Altura?
Altura runs natively on macOS Tahoe 26.3.1 (or later) on M-series Macs with Apple Intelligence support. iPadOS support is coming soon.
